Who we are

PopPond is made by Waseem Sayegh, a sole developer in the United Arab Emirates. You can reach us through poppond.com/support.

What the app collects

No accounts, and nothing that identifies you.

PopPond has no accounts and no sign-up. It asks for no name, email address, phone number, photograph or location. It contains no advertising and no advertising software, and uses no advertising identifiers.

The app does measure how it is used, anonymously. It records things like which books are opened, which dialect is chosen and which interface language is set, so we can see which parts of the app work and which do not. These records carry no name, no email address and no advertising identifier, and are not linked to you or your child. They are processed by PostHog on servers in the European Union.

The app can also send notifications. For that to work, your device registers an anonymous token with OneSignal. The token identifies a device, not a person, and is used only to deliver a notification.

Every photograph, recording and word ships inside the app, so it works without an internet connection. Your dialect, your interface language and which books you have opened are saved on your device.

What the website collects

poppond.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking.

The support page has a contact form. If you use it, the name, email address and message you type are sent to us so that we can reply. That is the only personal data we ever receive.

How we use it

To answer you. Nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, not used for advertising, and not used to build a profile.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data and we do not give it to anyone for their own purposes.

Two services process data on our behalf. PostHog handles the anonymous usage measurement described above, on servers in the European Union. OneSignal delivers notifications. Neither may use the data for anything else.

Two more things happen outside our hands and are worth naming. Books and subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and those purchases are handled entirely by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details. Separately, your device may send crash reports to Apple or Google if you have that enabled in your device settings. That happens at the operating system level and we neither receive nor control it.

Children

Many people using PopPond are children learning with a parent. The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children. There is no account to create, no message to send, and no way for anyone to contact a child through the app.

The usage measurement described above is anonymous. It is not linked to a name, an email address or an advertising identifier, and it is not used to build a profile of any child.

How long we keep it, and deletion

Anonymous usage records are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the app. Because they are not linked to a person, they cannot be traced back to you and there is nothing in them to identify.

If you have written to us through the support form, we keep your message only as long as it takes to answer you and to notice recurring problems. You can ask us to delete it at any time through poppond.com/support. Tell us the email address you wrote from so we can find it, and we will reply within thirty days.

Records of what you bought sit with Apple or Google, not with us. To see or delete those, use your Apple ID or Google Account settings.

Your rights

Where the law of your country gives you rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion and the right to complain to a data protection authority, those rights apply. Because the app collects nothing, most of them have nothing to act on.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
